The July 4th goat news...

Roving holiday calendar editor Dan reminds us, "Lefty, as is his custom, brings his pet goat to the July 4th poetry affair at the Conroe stockyards.
As just reported in the Patton Village Poofter Press:  'Lefty had a little goat. He fed her with a bucket. But every time she stooped to eat, the dog he tried to bite it.'..."

Publisher's note: As is well known in literary circles, Lefty's family has always been involved in the art of animal husbandry as evidenced by this famous 14th century painting by Tooloose LaBelt...

And next year's poetry gala is expected to be attended by the famous Gonzales County bard/goatherder who has indicated he will accept the invitation if the circuit court lifts his current travel restrictions...
